The Orthopedic Centre of Florida has partnered with Healthcare Outcomes Performance Company (HOPCo), the largest orthopedic value-based organization in the country and a renowned national leader in musculoskeletal practices and clinical management solutions. This partnership seeks to clinically integrate musculoskeletal practices, health systems, and physicians through southwest Florida and surrounding regions.

Through their partnership, HOPCo and Orthopedic Centre for Florida will also expand orthopedic practice into Naples, Florida. Consequently, many new physicians with specialties in spine care, sports medicine, and joint replacement will be added.

The new location will open its doors for operation in January 2023, and Naples will experience services with additional providers throughout 20223 and the years to come.

Dr. John Mehalik of the Orthopedic Centre of Florida says that the partnership with HOPCo will greatly supplement growth and expansion in Naples. He also states that HOPCo's experience in musculoskeletal practices makes it the perfect partner for this expansion.

HOPCo has appropriate software tools, a proprietary care management platform, and analytics infrastructure, which will improve patient experience through the partnership.

2) Models may Predict Chronic Opioid Use in Patients with Osteoarthritis.

The American Medical Group Association has developed a medical model that can estimate the risk for chronic opioid use in patients with osteoarthritis. The model was developed using electronic health records from 13 diverse health centers.

To test the models’ ability to predict the likelihood that patients with OA might begin chronic opioid use, the researchers conducted a medical analysis.

The analysis comprised data from patients aged 18-89 with at least one opioid prescription between March 2017- February 2019. The result of the analysis was the development of chronic opioid use, defined as one or more periods spanning more than 84 days in which providers filled three prescriptions within 12 months of the incident prescription date. Medications were excluded if prescribed within three days of an inpatient visit, observational stay, or surgical procedure.

Jeff T. Mohl, Ph.D., of the American Medical Group Association, in Alexandria, Virginia, states that the models were not created to replace the expertise of trained professionals but rather to address the outcomes in patients with osteoarthritis.

He also stated that Osteoarthritis management creates a significant burden to the members of the American Group Association. As such, the models would come in handy to prevent the adverse effects of chronic opioid use.

2) Understanding the PIP Suit Process for Medical Providers

A sequence of work goes into the success of claiming recoveries. Here is a brief on the PIP suit process:

PIP Litigation

Florida drivers pay $10000 to buy Personal Injury Protection, which covers medical treatment. Injured patients sign and transfer Assignment of Benefits (AOB) to provide legal standing for medical providers to demand payment from insurance companies.

Many medical providers need help to follow through with payment, especially from insurance companies that default on payment. Ged Lawyers come in handy in such cases and follow claims on behalf of medical providers.

PIP Claim Reviews Made Easy

Going through patient records which have hundreds of documents, can be a daunting process. Our firm makes this process easy by indexing cases and applying an algorithm to identify overdue benefits. Then we submit the claims and handle the entire PIP suit process.

PIP Risk Management

Within 90 days from the treatment date, you can expect our attorneys to file an action in court if the claim isn't sufficiently paid. At that point, the insurer risks covering trial costs and attorney's fees. Most cases will settle pre-trial, resulting in prompt payment to your practice.
