Industry Updates

1) GE Healthcare Launches AI-Enabled X-Ray System

GE Healthcare has introduced a new premium fixed X-ray system with Definium 656 HD. According to a news release, GE Healthcare’s latest overhead tube suspension (OTS) system is its most advanced fixed X-ray product yet.

The company designed the next-gen X-ray platform to deliver reliable, highly automated, and effective exams that provide clinical confidence. The X-ray system also provides a simplified workflow to enhance consistency and lessen errors, thus helping radiology departments to run smoothly.

Definium 656 HD is powered by GE’s FlashPad HD high-resolution detectors and the latest Helix 2.2 advanced image processing software. It also includes AI-driven image processing and Intelligent Workflow Suite. With all these advanced features and applications, GE Healthcare can provide the fastest movement and highest weight capacity in the fixed X-ray portfolio.

The company defines this system as “a personal assistant” that helps radiologists deliver effective imaging exams while minimizing errors, patient positioning time, physical workload, and image re-takes. Its features include five-axis motorization and auto-positioning to speed up the positioning process and automated in-room workflows to help in manual and automatic workflow control.

According to Tanya Lancaster, the General Manager for Fixed X-rays, GE Healthcare aims to offer the best technologies and solutions to help customers deliver the best possible patient care. “With a focus on technologist workflow and efficiency, patient satisfaction, and exam quality, we are elated to introduce the next-generation Definium 656 HD x-ray system,” said Tanya Lancaste.

2) MR Scoring Algorithm Can Help Radiologists Determine Next Steps for Renal Masses

The clear cell likelihood score (ccLS) is a new MRI assessment score developed by researchers at the University of Texas Medical Center in Dallas. This score aims to help patients with small unknown solid renal masses. The MRI score has the potential to predict aggressive menaces, and it is easy for radiologists to learn and use.

While biopsy has been the only way to show and determine the risk of aggressive histology in renal masses, according to Ivan Pedrosa, vice-chair of research in the Department of Radiology at UT Southwestern Medical Center, this new assessment score will aim to clear cell histology, which is the most common malignancy that shows destructive behavior among other renal masses. The ccLS will help radiologists in noninvasively diagnosing cell histology.

Below are some tips by fluidic on how to boost your radiology practice growth:

  • Be inspired: You need fresh ideas to develop your radiology marketing plan. To achieve this, you can look at what your competitors are doing and draw inspiration from them.

2) How Medical Providers Can Maximize PIP Benefits Recovery

Recovering PIP benefits can be challenging for medical practitioners when dealing with insurance companies. From following up with the health insurer to the auto insurance company, and ultimately to a collections agency, this process can take a cut of any recovery.

The good news is that you can recover more money by deploying our personal injury protection (PIP) recovery system to deal with insurers. At PIP Recoveries, our legal experts have recovered millions in PIP dollars from insurance companies. Our recovery method offers speed and transparency for medical providers. Here’s how:

  • We set up your account on the HIPAA-compliant digital platform so that you can track your claims and recoveries.
  • Our experts maximize your resources and revenue by taking care of the document processing, including the Assignment of Benefits (AOB), Explanation of Benefits (EOB), and billing ledgers.
  • In the case of nonpayment or underpayment, we issue demand letters to insurers and require 30 days for an appropriate response and payment.
  • Our attorneys' file suit to collect overdue benefits, penalties, and interest without satisfactory payment.
